Maxi Copello and Raquel Makow, based in San Francisco and Buenos Aires, have been dancing together since 2015 when they met in the famous milonga, Salon Canning, in Buenos Aires.  Maxi comes from a family of dancers.  He grew up listening to Tango and watching his father, Carlos Copello, perform until he found his own passion in Tango as well.  Raquel grew up dancing Jazz and Ballet and later formed a career in competitive Ballroom dance until she was drawn to dance Tango.  Together they travel around the world teaching and performing.  They have become 5 time Tango World Champion finalists 2016-2020, and in 2020 won the title of 2nd place.  They acted and danced in the movie, “Se Dice de mí: Tita de Buenos Aires,” which debuted in movie theaters in 2017.  And year after year, they continue to push their artistic boundaries, studying from the old maestros in Buenos Aires, creating new projects for themselves, and evolving their dancing every day.
